The first season of Diablo 4 has finally been released, and players can now face off against the Malignant corruption in the Seasonal Realm by logging in with a brand new character. The first battle pass in Diablo 4 was one of the many pieces of new content that were added to the game by the Season 1 update. Playing the game on the Seasonal Realm between now and October 17, when the first season of Diablo's battle passes concludes, is all that is required to advance through the tiers. Those who are not familiar with the way battle passes function in Diablo should read this.

You are able to finish the questline for Season 1, defeat both familiar and unfamiliar foes, and pretty much do anything else that you can find to do on the map. You may be debating whether or not to purchase the premium version of the battle pass before beginning the new season. Alternatively, you may be considering whether or not to continue using the free track. Those players who did not preorder the Digital or Ultimate Edition of Diablo 4 are required to pay an additional ten dollars to access the Premium version. In the following section, we will discuss whether or not the price is justified.

The contents of the battle pass for the first season of Diablo 4
To begin, the battle pass is primarily comprised of cosmetic items; consequently, almost nothing that you unlock through use of the pass will provide you with a competitive advantage in terms of game play. The Smoldering Ashes are the only thing that can get you around this rule because they are available on the free track of the battle pass.

The ability to use Smoldering Ashes is unlocked at various points throughout the course of the battle pass, but first players must reach a certain level in their character before they can do so. When your character has reached the appropriate level, you will be able to equip a specific piece of Smoldering Ash, which will confer a gameplay buff upon your character. One of these buffs will increase the amount of experience points you gain from killing monsters, while another will increase the number of rare materials you can obtain through salvaging. These buffs come in a variety of flavors.

However, with the exception of the Smoldering Ashes, every tier on the battle pass grants access to a cosmetic item. You can earn Platinum, which is the in-game currency used to purchase items from the Shop, by completing the Coldiron Armor set, which has several different tiers. Platinum is also a reward for completing the set. These two rewards, along with the vast majority of the game's other cosmetics, can only be obtained by following the premium path. Despite this, the free track does provide some decent cosmetics to choose from, such as a skin for the axe, a style of breaches, and even more.

Is it worthwhile to purchase the premium battle pass?
When attempting to find an answer to the question of whether or not purchasing the premium pass is money well spent, there are a few things to take into consideration. Our first thought was regarding the amount of Platinum that will be awarded to you upon successful completion of the battle pass. If you could earn enough Platinum to buy the Season 2 battle pass or buy a cool-looking armor set from the Shop, then purchasing the entire battle pass might be worth it just for those two options alone. Unfortuitously, completing all 90 levels of the premium battle pass will only grant you a total of 666 Platinum to add to your collection.

As a point of comparison, the price of the battle pass for each season is one thousand Platinum, while the price of the item that is considered to be the least expensive in the Diablo 4 Shop is eight hundred Platinum. Because of this, the 666 Platinum is nearly pointless unless you purchase additional quantities of it. You will still be required to make a purchase in spite of the fact that the price of the subsequent battle pass for Season 2 could potentially go down as a result of this.

The next thing that should be taken into consideration is precisely what it is that you will obtain from the free track of the battle pass. The following is a list of all of the free tiers of the battle pass that you will receive if you do not spend any money during the first season:

- Tunic chest worn by artisansBalanced Sword a sword with only one handSmoldering Ashes is a bonus that can be unlocked at level 40

When all of the content that comes with the free track is considered, the premium version starts to look like it doesn't offer nearly as much value as the free track does. The fantastic-looking Coldiron Armor set is the most notable advantage offered by the premium version of the game in comparison to the free version. This set includes every piece of armor and several weapons that players can equip using the transmogrification system. It also comes with the set's base item.

If you want the Coldrion Armor set, it is our opinion that the only time it makes sense to invest in the premium battle pass is if you want to do so. You can look at it as paying ten dollars to purchase this armor set, and everything else on the premium track is a bonus you get in exchange for paying for it. Obviously, the amount of progress you can make with this $10 will be directly proportional to the amount of time you invest in Diablo 4 Season 1. It will take a significant amount of time spent playing the game to advance to level 90 and complete the Coldiron Armor set.

To anyone, however, who does not place a significant amount of importance on the Coldiron Armor set, we would say that the premium battle pass for Diablo 4 Season 1 is not something you should consider purchasing. You already obtain a significant amount of content from the free track, including all of the Smoldering Ashes; the premium track does not even provide you with sufficient Platinum to buy anything in the game. Despite the fact that the Coldiron Armor set has a fantastic appearance, we do not believe that it is sufficient to save the entirety of the premium pass.
